18-inch Pipe Bomb Found Behind Philadelphia Catholic Church, Near Railroad Tracks: Police
An 18-inch pipe bomb — found behind a Catholic church in Philadelphia on Sunday by a passerby — launched an investigation and brought local bomb squad authorities to investigate the scene.
Philadelphia Police Department officials spoke to a local Fox News affiliate: A passerby saw a PVC tube with capped ends, black powder, and was located near the Conrail train tracks just behind St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Philadelphia’s Holmesburg Section.
Police shut down the streets surrounding the bomb site while a bomb squad removes the pipe bomb and transports it back to headquarters.
No injuries were reported.
St. Dominic’s has yet to respond to our requests for comment.
The pipe bomb was discovered by authorities one day after David O’Connell, Auxiliary Bishop Los Angeles, was killed. shot dead Saturday afternoon in Hacienda Height, a Los Angeles County suburb.
A spokesperson for The Daily Wire stated that the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department confirmed Sunday that they are conducting a murder investigation into the death O’Connell.
