Tragedy Strikes at Annual Motorcycle Rally in Red River, New Mexico

What was supposed to be a weekend of fun and excitement turned into a nightmare when gunfire erupted at the 41st Annual Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally in New Mexico. According to reports, at least three people were killed and five others were injured in the incident.

Annual Motorcycle Rally Turns Deadly

The Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally is an annual event that draws up to 28,000 bikers from all different backgrounds to line Main Street for one crazy party. However, this year’s event turned deadly when violence erupted between rival biker gangs.

While officials have stated that violence between rival biker gangs at the event is rare, this year’s incident has left the community in shock. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is assisting New Mexico State Police in the investigation.

Emergency Curfew Issued

The nearby city of Taos issued an emergency curfew at 10 pm on Saturday that prohibited alcohol sales. It lasted until 4 am Sunday. Red River officials have asked businesses to remain closed on Sunday while police continue to investigate.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families during this difficult time.
