4 dead, 2 injured in Michigan house blast

Four people have tragically lost their lives and two others are currently hospitalized following a devastating explosion at a lake house in Michigan.
The explosion occurred on Saturday, just before 4 p.m., in Northfield Township, located approximately 45 miles west of Detroit.
According to Northfield Township Police Lieutenant David Powell, only the basement of the house remains standing.
The explosion caused debris to scatter on both sides of a nearby highway, with the sound of the blast audible from a distance of 9 miles.
Lieutenant Powell confirmed that no other homes in the vicinity were damaged.
At the time of the incident, there were six individuals inside the house. Two survivors are currently in critical condition and receiving medical treatment, while the other four were found at the scene.
Scott McMillian, a resident living approximately a mile away, described the scene as reminiscent of something he had witnessed during war.
“It was that loud,” McMillian stated. “Even in war, I have never heard of anything of this level at this distance.”
Initially, the police were unaware of the relationships between the victims.
The cause of the explosion remains unknown to authorities, and the identities of the victims are being kept private as the investigation continues.
