The body of a suspected cult leader was recently found mummified in a Colorado home, which led to the arrest of seven people.

According to the Saguache County Sheriff’s Office, those seven people were taken into custody after a raid last week led authorities to the body of Amy Carlson. She was discovered wrapped in a sleeping bag and Christmas lights.

The house was located in the rural town of Moffat, which is about 180 miles southwest of Denver. The residence appears to be tied to the “Love Has Won” group, which is often referred to as a cult.

One of its followers tipped police off after telling them the group was holding his two-year-old son and another child.

The alleged cult leader’s son, Cole Carlson, commented on the development by calling it all disturbing.

“Some of the details that have slowly continued to come out have been rather shocking to me honestly, but they are also a cult,” he stated. “You kind of expect weird things to come out.”

It’s believed the group moved Carlson’s body from California to Colorado before building what investigators have described as a shrine. The seven suspects are currently being held in the Rio Grande County Jail and face child abuse charges as well as abuse of a corpse charges.
