8th Senator Endorses Trump for 2024 Primary
Sen. Bill Hagerty( R-Tennessee ) became the eighth Republican lawmaker to support former president Donald Trump as he competed for the GOP’s’s 2024 presidential nomination on April 16.
It is an honor for me to vouch for Donald J. Trump as the next President of the United States. Hagerty said in a tweet on Twitter on Sunday,” I was honored to previously perform in his Administration.
Hagerty praised Trump for his difficult position against the Chinese Communist Party, his power measures, and his efforts to reduce illegal border crossings while serving as U.S. ambassador to Japan from 2017 to 2019.
According to Hagerty,” Under President Trump, our margin was safe, the country was energy active, and we saw a Blue-Collar Boom that lifted up American people from all background.” ” We engaged with strength under President Trump’s’s administration, and we urged our supporters to stand tough with us.”
The 63-year-old continued,” President Trump stood up against Communist China, put an end to[ former President Barack ] Obama’s’s failed approach of” leading from behind ,” and revived our military and law enforcement as they saw support from their Commander-in-Chief that had been lacking— and has now gone missing once more after two years of Joe Biden in office.
He concluded,” The need for a strong America has never been clearer, and I’m’m looking forward to working with President Trump once more to guide our great country back to the exceptional role we can and must play.”
The merchant and native of Tennessee won the state’s’s 2020 Senate election, taking over the seat left open by retiring Republican Sen. Lamar Alexander. The previous minister defeated Democrat Marquita Bradshaw thanks to Trump’s’s support.
