REPORT: Authorities Searching For Former NFL Running Back Zac Stacy Following Alleged Violent Beating Of Ex-Girlfriend

With the video of former NFL running back Zac Stacy allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend circulating the internet, law enforcement are currently attempting to find and apprehend Stacy.

“Efforts are underway to capture Stacy,” a police spokesperson said. “And we would urge him to turn himself in and face the criminal charges.”

According to TMZ, Stacy has fled the state of Florida and faces two felony charges — aggravated battery and criminal mischief. The first felony carries up to 15 years in prison, and the second carries up to five years.

Police say they arrived at the scene of the crime minutes after Stacy’s ex-girlfriend called police, but the former NFL player had already fled the scene.

“On Nov. 13, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Oakland Police officers responded to an emergency call about a domestic disturbance,” the Oakland Police Department said to USA TODAY Sports. “Officers arrived on scene within two minutes, and were able to determine a domestic violence battery had taken place and that the suspect, Zackary Stacy, had fled the scene. Officers continued to search for Stacy, and the case was forwarded to the investigations unit of the Oakland Police Department to establish probable cause to secure a warrant for Stacy’s arrest.”

According to TMZ, the victim of the crime took to social media alleging that Stacy’s friends are currently hiding him from authorities.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who has continued to support me in this ordeal,” she said in a video. “He’s still not apprehended. I don’t know why. His friends are hiding him. Please, if you know anything, contact your local authorities if you see him. He drives a white Kia Optima, a 2020 I believe, or a 2021.”

“Please, again, if you see him or you know of any location that he might be, please turn him in or call your local authorities.”

In the video of the attack, the man seemingly identified as Stacy can be seen hitting the woman before forcibly throwing her against a television, which then falls on top of her. The woman can be heard pleading with him to stop, before he picks her up and body slams her to the ground. Their five-month-old child was on the couch.

Stacy — a record-setting Vanderbilt running back and three-year NFL veteran — was recently named the Youth Football Ambassador for the Music City Bowl. On Thursday, the bowl ended their relationship with Stacy.
