Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is doubling down on illegal immigrants, barring state licenses for facilities housing migrant children.
Gov. DeSantis announced his administration would be proposing a series of reforms for the upcoming legislative session in order to crackdown on the Biden border crisis. During a press conference in Jacksonville on Friday, DeSantis said he’s recommending contractors involved with harboring illegal immigrants into Florida, be barred from doing any business in the state. In addition, any private entity helping will have to pay the state restitution.
“Cartels are eating our lunch with what is going on with these border policies,” said DeSantis. “They’ve never had it so good.”
DeSantis also announced an emergency rule Friday, prohibiting the Florida Department of Children and Families to renew or issue state licenses to any childcare agency housing illegal immigrant children, in addition to those who claim to be children looking to be resettled. Officials said diverting resources to immigrant children brought over by the Biden administration doesn’t serve the people of Florida.
“It’s more lucrative to take foreigners into these places then it is to help our own kids here in Florida. For example, $158 for a foster kid, but it’s $500 to $1,400 if someone’s illegally here from a foreign country, and we want to make sure that those licenses are going to facilities that are helping people in Florida,” said DeSantis.

DeSantis’ team recently told Breitbart News they’ve been able to identify at least 70 “night time flights” carrying migrants allegedly arranged by the Biden administration, all landing in Jacksonville and more taking place across the country.
City officials standing alongside DeSantis hope this action will deter the Biden administration’s “massive human smuggling operation,” as well as protect the Sunshine State’s most vulnerable children. Meanwhile, the Republican governor said there’s a responsibility to stand up for the rule of law and against an administration that has decided they don’t want to have a secure border.
