During an interview on Monday, the 45th president said he was never fully convinced that crypto-currencies are a positive development in international finance. Trump said the U.S. dollar must remain the most important currency in the world.

“Look, I want our currency called the dollar. I don’t want to have all these others and that could be an explosion some day like the likes of which we’ve never seen,” he stated. “It could make the big tech explosion look like baby stuff. I think it is a very dangerous thing.”

His remarks come amid reports that former First Lady Melania Trump has launched a non fungible tokens platform marking the Trump family’s entry into the buoyant industry of digital finance.

President Trump also said First Lady Melania is well-respected and loved by both American patriots and digital investors adding he believes she’ll be very successful at her new endeavor, but Trump says what’s good for business is not necessarily good for the country.
