Boston’s freshly-elected Mayor announces a new vaccine passport system for the city. On Monday, the Democrat Mayor Michelle Wu announced the system which will go into effect on January 15th.

From that day residents and visitors to the city will be forced to show proof of vaccination to enter most indoor spaces, including eating at restaurants or working out in gyms. The Mayor said it was the most American thing someone could do.

“There’s a long history in this country of people needing to show their papers,” she stated. “Whether we’re talking about this from the standpoint as a way to, after, during slavery, post slavery here, we want to make sure that we are not doing anything that would further create a barrier for residents of Boston.”

This is in stark contrast to the attitude of Boston’s previous mayor, a progressive Democrat and the city’s first black Mayor who compared the passport system to slavery when it was first implemented in other cities. Protesters showed up while Mayor Wu made her announcement holding signs saying “shame on Wu” and singing the Star Spangled Banner.
