Biden Complains Struggling Americans Just Don’t Get How Great the Economy Is
While speaking at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference, Joe Biden informed us that everything is A-OK and that those struggling simply haven’t gotten the memo.
While deflecting on record inflation and ignoring the chronic labor shortage, Biden took credit for nearly 2.5 million Americans breaking the cycle of long-term unemployment, a cycle created (and then “solved”) by many state governments imposing and then removing burdensome lockdowns and other COVID restrictions. Biden also touted record low home foreclosures, though this in part could be due to a record number of homes being bought by investors, and record low credit card delinquencies, a continuation of a trend that began under the Trump administration.
“The list goes on,” Biden said. “We’ve got a long way to go, though. I’m not saying we’re over; we’re just getting going. And a lot of work to do. But never forget what we’ve accomplished together so far. And, by the way, the American people just trying to stay above water don’t understand this. You tell them what the American Recovery Act was, and they look at you like, ‘What
are you talking about?’ Understandably. They’re like my family: mom, dad, four kids, grandpop living in the house in a three-bedroom split-level home. Just every single day figuring out how you put enough food on the table even when things are okay.”
