White House Predicts 100 Million COVID-19 Cases In Fall And Winter Unless The Feds Get Billions In Funding
The White House is currently predicting that 100 million cases of COVID-19 will hit America in the fall and winter unless the federal government receives billions in taxpayer funding to combat the virus. The report calls to mind Biden’s failed promise to “shut down” the virus.
On Friday, CNN reported that the “Biden administration is issuing a new warning that the US could potentially see 100 million Covid-19 infections this fall and winter, as officials publicly stress the need for more funding from Congress to prepare the nation.”
“The White House is sharing these estimates as officials renew their push to get Congress to approve additional funding to combat the virus and as the nation approaches a coronavirus death toll of 1 million,” CNN’s Kaitlan Collins added. “Officials have said the White House will commemorate the moment when the US surpasses 1 million deaths from Covid-19.”
The Daily Mail also reported that Biden is seeking approval from Congress for more funding, upwards of $22.5 billion, “to allow the federal government to continue to purchase tests, therapeutics and continue other virus surveillance and prevention measures into the future.”
On Monday, The Hill reported that Congressional Democrats decided to remove COVID-19 funding from support for Ukraine, in a move that appeared to be specific to speed up support for the Eastern European nation.
“We cannot afford delay in this vital war effort. Hence, I am prepared to accept that these two measures move separately, so that the Ukrainian aid bill can get to my desk right away,” President Joe Biden said on Monday.
The Hill also noted that disagreements between the GOP and Democratic officials regarding the U.S. southern border and public health measures has also caused delays in securing support for the federal funding.
“Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) and a group of Republicans had previously struck a deal for $10 billion in coronavirus assistance,” The Hill noted. “But Republicans want to add language into the coronavirus bill that would prevent the administration from lifting Title 42, a Trump-era pandemic public health policy that allows for the rapid expulsion of migrants at the border and blocks them from seeking asylum.”
While it is unclear what specifically the requested COVID-19 money will be used for by the Biden administration, the report calls to mind that Biden had promised to “shut down the virus” during the 2020 campaign.
After more than a year in office, with cases surging even with several vaccines, it has become apparent that Biden’s plan to eliminate the virus was never an actual possibility. The Daily Wire’s Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro has previously argued Biden’s promise was a”lie.”
“Government does not have the power to end disease, as a general matter,” Shapiro wrote in December 2021. “When it comes to a wildly transmissible coronavirus specifically, no government can end the virus.”
Biden continues to suggest that the federal government can control it because “the big-government lie must be maintained. It is an article of faith,” Shapiro added.
Donald Trump Jr., also pointed out on Tuesday that it appears that the Democrat’s latest message ahead of the 2022 midterms seems to argue, “be afraid, only the extreme competence of Joe Biden can save you!!!”

For its part, The White House insists that without the funding, the U.S. will be unprepared for future waves of the virus.
