No Joke: White Comic, ‘Terror on the Prairie’ Actor, Sues Talent Agency Alleging Discrimination

Comedian Tyler Fischer, whose spot-on impressions of former President Trump, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and others have helped build a huge YouTube following, is suing a talent management company he claims rejected him for being white, according to a report.

Fischer, who stars in the upcoming Daily Wire movie “Terror on the Prairie,” told the New York Post that AGI Entertainment Media & Management officials first told him he was headed for stardom, then ghosted him. Then, after months of sitting by the phone, Fischer claims he received a call that delivered the wrong kind of punchline.

“‘We love you,’” Fischer, who is suing for discrimination in Brooklyn Supreme Court quoted AGI official Alex Brazil telling him. “‘Everyone here loves you and thinks you’re a star, but we’re not taking you because you’re white.’”

“And that’s when my stomach dropped,” said Fischer.

Fischer says he recorded the call on the advice of his therapist and claims to have strong evidence that his career was stymied because of his skin color.

“I think I said something like, ‘So you guys like me, you want to work with me, you know I’ve got what it takes, but the only reason is because I’m white?’ And he said, ‘Yeah.’”

Fischer, 35, is a star on the standup circuit, has 146,000 YouTube followers, and a weekly podcast, “The Tyler Fischer Show.”

Fischer says the agency offered to settle, but he refused.

“I will not settle,” he said in a recent tweet. “I will take this all the way even if I don’t get a dime. This ‘justified’ racism must end.”

“I’m hoping this can draw some attention to getting back to why are we putting race and gender and pronouns and all this before who’s qualified for the job,” Fischer also said.

Fischer’s lawyer, Lawrence Spasojevich, said the sole criteria for his client should be whether he can make people laugh.

“Mr. Fischer’s lawsuit seeks to enforce the idea that individuals should be judged by their qualifications; not by their race, their sex, their gender identity, their religion, or any other innate characteristic,” Spasojevich told the Post. “That idea needs to apply to everyone equally or else it loses its legitimacy.”

An AGI spokesman declined to address the specifics of Fischer’s claims.

“While we can’t comment on active litigation, we are proud to represent a roster of artists who we work with based solely on their talent,” the spokesman told the Post.

Fischer tests his dramatic chops in the upcoming film “Terror on the Prairie,” in which he plays an outlaw cowboy. The western, which stars Gina Carano, Samaire Armstrong, and Nick Searcy, is set to debut exclusively on The Daily Wire this summer.

“On the Montana plains, a frontier woman must protect herself against a ruthless gang of outlaws hell-bent on revenge,” reads the IMDb logline for the film.
