‘Leave Them Alone’: ‘Wonder Woman’ Star Lynda Carter Shares Thoughts On Trans Controversy

“Wonder Woman” star Lynda Carter is the latest celebrity to weigh in on the trans controversy after Bette Midler and singer Macy Gray got slammed for their thoughts on the issue.

“I cannot think of anything that helps women’s rights less than pinning the blame on trans women,” the 70-year-old star posted on Twitter Tuesday. “They face so much violence and scrutiny as is. Leave them alone and focus on the real war on women. It’s happening in the courts and legislatures around this country.”

The tweet earned 180,000 likes and more than 30,000 retweets as of Wednesday.

Carter’s feed was flooded with support from fans.

“You are 100% spot on, and THANK YOU,” one follower replied.

“Thank you SO much Lynda. Am always appreciative of your allyship and willingness to speak up for us,” another person agreed.

Carter’s comments come as the trans argument is heating up in the Hollywood community. For a long time, billionaire author J.K. Rowling was one of the few celebrities speaking out on behalf of women, saying that the trans ideology was dangerous for women’s rights. This got her labeled as a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist).

Now most recently, Bette Midler got in hot water for comments of her own. “WOMEN OF THE WORLD! We are being stripped of our rights over our bodies, our lives and even of our name! They don’t call us ‘women’ anymore; they call us ‘birthing people’ or ‘menstruators’, and even ‘people with vaginas’! Don’t let them erase you! Every human on earth owes you!” the singer shared.

When trans activists came after her, Midler doubled down.

“PEOPLE OF THE WORLD! My tweet about women was a response to this fascinating and well written piece in the NYT on July 3rd. There was no intention of anything exclusionary or transphobic in what I said;  it wasn’t about that,” Midler shared, as The Daily Wire previously reported.

She’s not the only one. Recording artist Macy Gray made similar comments during an appearance on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.”

“I will say this, and everybody’s going to hate me, but as a woman, just because you go change your parts doesn’t make you a woman. Sorry,” Gray said, which also inspired a lot of hate and accusations of transphobia.

Both Midler and Gray later expressed their love and support of the LGBTQ community after being attacked online.
