Yale Epidemiologist: Academic Researchers Funded by Big Pharma “Fatally Compromised” by Conflicts of Interest
Academic researchers lavishly funded by Big Pharma are often fatally compromised by financial conflicts of interest, charged Dr. Harvey Risch in an interview Thursday on the “Just the News, Not Noise” television program.
“It’s the academic doctors who have major conflicts of interest,” the eminent Yale professor of epidemiology told cohosts John Solomon and Amanda Head. “They do the research studies funded by pharma, they are the spokesman for pharma. They get paid by pharma for grants and teaching and so on, and … those payments corrupt the entire medical workspace and ideas space.”
Risch contrasted resarch scientists compromised by industry dollars with independent practitioners like the late Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, who, he claimed, promoted effective outpatient treatments for COVID-19 like ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine based on “common sense medicine” despite pushback from the media.
