Donald Trump‘s former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin will become the new co-host on the hit talk show The View, DailyMail.com can reveal.
Farah Griffin, 33, will be named as Meghan McCain‘s full time replacement on the panel from September for the show’s 26th season.
Three insiders with knowledge of the discussions with Farah Griffin have told DailyMail.com that ABC will announce her new position imminently.
ABC has rotated the seat vacated by DailyMail.com columnist McCain since her departure on August 6, 2021.
Farah Griffin will now join current co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and rotating co-host Ana Navarro on weekday mornings on ABC.

One source close to the discussions with the former White House aide said: ‘My jaw dropped when I was told that she was the pick. It makes no sense.
‘Part of me wishes they just leaned into MAGA and hired Kimberly Guilfoyle, at least it would better reflect part of the audience and there would be fireworks every day.’
Another insider told DailyMail.com: ‘Her soon to be co-hosts are very upset. They feel she isn’t authentic and changes her opinions based on who her paymaster is.
‘Ana Navarro especially feels let down as they are hiring someone who was an essential part of the movement that destabilized this country.
‘Alyssa’s family is also problematic. Her father Joseph founded WorldNetDaily a website that promotes conspiracy theories. It’s terrifying.’
A third source added: ‘Her appointment will also cost us bookings. Wanda Sykes pulled out because she didn’t want to be on the show with her.’
Comedian Sykes’ withdrawal from the show was first reported by The Daily Beast’s Confider media newsletter.
DailyMail.com has approached ABC, The View, and Ana Navarro’s representatives for comment.
Los Angeles-born Farah Griffin is a political advisor, and served as White House Director of Strategic Communications and Assistant to the President in the Trump administration in 2020.
The conservative resigned in December 2020, a month before he vacated office.
At the time, she tweeted: ‘It’s been the honor of a lifetime to serve in the Trump Administration over the last 3 and a half years, first as Press Secretary to @VP Pence, then as Press Secretary for the @DeptofDefense, & most recently as White House Communications Director.’
A month after she quit, Trump held his infamous rally in front of the White House on January 6, 2020 — the day Congress moved to certify the election for Joe Biden and a trove of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol to stop them from doing so.
Farah Griffin was quick to denounce the attack after having publicly condemned Trump supporters for harassing Mitt Romney the day before.
On January 8, 2021, she blamed Trump for inciting the insurrection and suggested that he should resign as the House moved to impeach the outgoing president for the second time of his administration.
She was also press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence from 2017 to 2019 – before being appointed as the youngest Pentagon Press Secretary in history.
In 2021, the 33-year-old married long-time partner Justin Griffin – and she revealed this year that members of her family, including her own father, boycotted her wedding because of their political differences.

In October, weeks before her nuptials, she criticized Trump for lying about the election being stolen during an appearance on The View, saying she wouldn’t support him again.
She recalled: ‘The election had been called. It had been a couple of weeks, and I started to see tick up in rhetoric around the election was stolen, seeing some of my colleagues go on TV and say as much.
‘I fundamentally knew that wasn’t true and it could have dangerous consequences.’
She added: ‘I thought I had a duty first and foremost to the country to tell the truth.’
Farah Griffin said she was devastated by the insurrection as she recalled how Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt was fatally shot while breaching the U.S. Capitol building.
‘My heart breaks that an Air Force veteran was so warped by lies to her sold by the American president that she lost her life,’ she said.
Farah Griffin insisted she ‘wouldn’t support Donald Trump again.’
‘Our country needs to go to a different direction,’ she added. ‘There are some good things policy wise…but we gotta move on from this era.’

The CNN political commentator told The View earlier this year: ‘I recently got married back in November, and this is such a tough topic, so keep in mind two things: COVID has made people shrink their friend groups, their family groups. People aren’t being around each other if they are not open to getting vaccinated. Add to that, political polarization.
‘In my situation, personally, I had to deal with two people very close to me, my father and stepmother, who didn’t want to attend my wedding.’
This comes after fans of the hit American talk show demanded that Whoopi Goldberg be fired for going ‘nuts’ while live on air this week.
Fans of the show have called for the producers to have a casting rearrangement after the popular show has faced a series of blunders recently.
On Friday Whoopi, 66, took to the panel and discussed parenting when she used the word ‘a**’, leaving fans shocked.
