‘Inflation Has Gone Nuts’: ‘Pawn Stars’ Rick Harrison Says More Young People Are Selling ‘Their Belongings’

“Pawn Stars” legend Rick Harrison said that more young people have been coming into his Las Vegas pawn shop selling “their belongings” than ever before and slammed the economy under President Joe Biden.

The reality TV star — who is the owner of the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop famously seen on the popular History Channel TV show — talked about how “inflation has gone nuts” as he laid the blame for the rising prices in everything from gas to groceries on the Biden administration, during his appearance Monday on “Fox and Friends“.

“We just have a government dead set on creating more inflation and less jobs,” Harrison explained. “I mean, that’s the only way I can think to say it.”

The pawn shop owner talked about how people don’t realize that “20 percent of the adult population do not have a bank account, they don’t have normal banking. If they need a little money, this is what they have to do.”

“Gas prices are killing people, the price of food has gone … inflation has gone nuts,” he added of the cost of living in Las Vegas. “And I really believe lower-income people it affects much worse than it affects upper-income people.”

“Rents in Vegas alone are up 24 percent in one year,” Harrison continued. “You know, you take the gas prices, the food prices and everything like that: it’s much harder to make a living.”

When pressed by the host on who the reality TV star is seeing more of these days in his shop than before, he said younger people. He shared how it’s “young people” who are selling belongings they never thought they would have to.

“There’s a lot of people, especially young people who work in the gig economy and things like that,” Harrison told the host. “I live in the poorest county in Oregon like four months a year. I help out a lot down there. And when you’re talking rural places, it’s even worse because these people have to drive so much more.”
