‘Maybe It’s The Sexy Glasses’: Tucker Carlson Mocks Oscar-Winner Over Her Claim She Has Nightmares About Him
Fox News host Tucker Carlson responded on Tuesday to the news that he had apparently been playing a feature role in the recurring nightmares of Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence.
Carlson wrapped up his Tuesday evening broadcast of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” with his response to Lawrence’s recent Vogue cover interview — during which she revealed that she had spent much of the last five years feuding with her more conservative family members over politics and struggling to find a way to forgive them.
During the interview, Lawrence also let it slip that she had spoken with her therapist about recurring nightmares in which Carlson had appeared — prompting ridicule from a number of critics on Twitter. Carlson was no exception.

“When you work in television, you lose control of a lot of things,” Carlson teed up the segment, adding, “So can it really be your fault, are you really responsible if major Hollywood starlets dream about you? Maybe it’s the sexy glasses. Who knows? We can only speculate.”
Carlson turned to fellow Fox News anchor Trace Gallagher for the full report.
“Just so you get the total dichotomy of this, Tucker, it’s important to note that while Jennifer Lawrence sees you in her head at night, you know, the nightmares when she sleeps, she is likely not watching you now,” Gallagher began, adding, “But her parents are probably watching because they’re fans.”
Gallagher went on to quote Lawrence, who said in the interview that she had been trying for the last five years to find a way to forgive and mend fences with her family members who still lived in Kentucky — but added that the more recent Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade had brought their disagreements bubbling to the surface again.
“I just worked so hard in the last five years to forgive my dad and my family and try to understand: It’s different. The information they are getting is different. Their life is different,” she explained. “I’ve tried to get over it and I really can’t. I can’t. I’m sorry I’m just unleashing, but I can’t f*** with people who aren’t political anymore. You live in the United States of America. You have to be political. It’s too dire. Politics are killing people.”
Gallagher went on to suggest that Lawrence’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight-mares” may have begun with a 2017 segment during which the host had said the “Hunger Games” star suffered from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” — along with several media outlets claiming that she had blamed Trump for a series of hurricanes (Lawrence said that her comments regarding the hurricanes had been taken “grossly out of context”).
Following Trump’s election, Lawrence appeared to suggest that the hurricanes were the environment’s response to him. “It’s really hard … not to feel mother nature’s rage and wrath,” she said at the time.
“So she says she has nightmares about us, that’s what they’re calling it. Nightmares,” Carlson continued. “We’re flattered. I think it’s the sexy glasses.”
