Corporate Media Enables Biden Family Corruption By Deliberately Failing To Ask Tough Questions About Hunter Biden
Thanks to the complacent, corrupt corporate media, President Joe Biden has once again failed to answer questions about the Biden family business and whether his son Hunter Biden’s foreign entanglements have affected how he chooses to run the country.
The most recent side-stepping happened during a “60 Minutes” interview with CBS news anchor Scott Pelley, who claimed that if Joe seeks re-election, “Republicans are most likely to go after your son Hunter.”
“I wonder what you would like to say about your son and whether any of his troubles have caused conflicts for you or for the United States,” Pelley said.
First, Pelley’s “question” was not a question but a softball statement designed to save him from criticism for failing to raise Hunter as a topic of conversation at all. Much like the rest of his corporate media colleagues, Pelley seems to have an incessant desire to prop up the declining president instead of making him answer tough questions.
Secondly, Republicans aren’t “going after” Hunter to get to Joe. They are raising legitimate concerns about someone whose foreign business dealings and criminal dabbling, combined with his closeness to POTUS, pose a serious threat to the national security of the United States.
Biden’s response, however, was much worse than Pelley’s lame attempt at giving him a soundbite for the corporate media to use the next time Hunter re-enters the news cycle.
“I love my son, number one. He fought an addiction problem. He overcame it. He wrote about it. And no, there’s not a single thing that I’ve observed at all that will affect me or the United States relative to my son Hunter,” the president said.
While it’s true that the president can’t be blamed for all of Hunter’s deviance, including his struggles with addiction, firearms and firearm forms, a coverup by the Secret Service, the military, hookers, and estranged girlfriend and child, there are plenty of times when the Biden family’s willingness to keep Hunter close has compromised their patriarch and subsequently, the United States.
Hunter didn’t just exchange access to his father, who was vice president at the time, for cash to fund the family’s lavish lifestyle, he was paid by oligarchs and businessmen in countries that have a vested interest in meddling with US affairs.
That’s concerning because it makes the chief of state, Hunter’s dad, susceptible to sway from any of Hunter’s foreign buddies, including American enemies such as China. Already, Joe’s eagerness to reward those business partners, such as selling the Chinese gas giant that has ties to Hunter oil from emergency reserves, has affected how the president runs the country.
It’s no secret that Joe, while he was still vice president, met with more than a dozen of Hunter’s business associates. Some of those meetings were even held in the West Wing of the White House. Yet, Joe has repeatedly lied about his knowledge of Hunter’s overseas business dealings.
Pelley had the perfect opportunity to press Joe on why he lied, what happened in those West Wing meetings, and how involved he’s been brokering deals that the whole Biden family, including Joe’s brother James, reaped the benefits of. Instead, Pelley chose not to press the president.
Pelley’s reluctance to ask tough questions about Hunter is deliberate and straight out of the corporate media handbook.
The corrupt press knew Hunter was sealing deals using his dad’s name and title. They also knew that was compromising for the then-presidential candidate. That’s why when Hunter’s laptop with information indicating Joe was not as clueless about Hunter’s business as he seemed surfaced shortly before the 2020 election, the media claimed it was “Russian disinformation” and refused to cover any of the corruption.
Pelley’s refusal to make Joe answer for the Biden family business in a 2022 “60 Minutes” interview is no different than the media’s deliberate memory holing of Hunter’s depravity and the Bidens’ wheeling and dealings in 2020.
