House GOP Crushes Dem Super Pac in Fundraising

The House Republican super PAC raked in $73 million in campaign donations in the third quarter, surpassing its Democratic counterpart by $18 million, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

The Congressional Leadership Fund (CLF)—House minority leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R., Calif.) super PAC—has raised a total of $220 million this cycle. The House Majority PAC—the Democrats’ super PAC—pocketed $55 million in the third quarter, making their total for the cycle $86 million behind CLF, Punchbowl News reported. With midterm elections four weeks away, the funding gap may imperil Democrats’ House majority. Republicans’ extra funding means they can afford expensive ad buys and other campaign tools to push their candidates across the finish line.

In the Senate, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has raised $194 million since January 2021 compared with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s $186 million. Senate Republicans have front-loaded their spending, leaving them with $30 million less on hand than Democrats, as of September 21.

“We’ve dramatically outspent them and it’s paid off. We’re gonna continue to work hard and raise money,” Republican senator Rick Scott (Fla.) told Spectrum News.
