‘Seemed Like A Robot To Me’: Sunny Hostin Can’t Stop Talking About Mike Pence Tapping His Foot

Sunny Hostin said on Monday that former Vice President Mike Pence “seemed like a robot,” saying that she had been completely distracted by the fact that he kept tapping his right foot during a recent television appearance.

Hostin made the comments during Monday’s broadcast of “The View,” ABC’s midday talk show, and she suggested that Pence was only coming out to publicly oppose his former boss, then-President Donald Trump, because he wanted to make more money selling his upcoming book.

“All I kept on looking at was Mike Pence’s right foot. Did you see how he was just tapping it and tapping it?”

“I didn’t see it,” one of her co-hosts interjected.

“Oh, yeah, he was just tapping it and tapping it and tapping it. Seemed like a robot to me,” Hostin said, tapping her hand on the table to punctuate her remarks.

“I also think that certainly it does take courage to uphold the law,” Hostin continued, apparently referencing Pence’s refusal to reject the 2020 election certifications from the states. “But it doesn’t take a whole lot of courage to finally come out with your story when your book is coming out tomorrow for which you made three to four million dollars.”

“So for me, he again is not the savior of the GOP. I suppose he’s going to try to run again, I know my dear friend here is going to disagree with me because she worked for him,” Hostin added, indicating her co-host and former spokeswoman for then-Vice President Pence, Alyssa Farah Griffin. “But I think that the voters made it loud and clear that the first thing that was important was that democracy was on the ballot and the second thing that was important was a woman’s right to health care.”

“And that’s it,” Hostin concluded, waving her hands. “So he can say whatever he wants with his tapping right foot …”

Pence told ABC News’s David Muir that he felt Trump’s January 6th tweet — alleging that he did not have “the courage” to act unilaterally to overturn the presidential election — was “reckless.”

“It angered me. But I turned to my daughter, who was standing nearby. And I said, ‘It doesn’t take courage to break the law, it takes courage to uphold the law,’” Pence said. “The president’s words were reckless. It was clear he decided to be part of the problem.”
