John Rich Eviscerates Elton John for Leaving Twitter – “Don’t Be So Weak”
The country music star John Rich is firing back at Elton John after the “Rocket Man” singer announced that he is leaving Twitter over Elon Musk’s acquisition of the social media platform.
John Quits Twitter – Rich Hits Back
All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together. Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world.
I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked.— Elton John (@eltonofficial) December 9, 2022
It all started when John took to Twitter on Friday morning to reveal that he is done with Twitter.
“All my life I’ve tried to use music to bring people together,” he wrote. “Yet it saddens me to see how misinformation is now being used to divide our world. I’ve decided to no longer use Twitter, given their recent change in policy which will allow misinformation to flourish unchecked.”
Musk himself responded to the tweet, taking the high road by writing, “I love your music. Hope you come back. Is there any misinformation in particular that you’re concerned about?”
As of this writing, however, John has yet to respond to this.
I love your music. Hope you come back. Is there any misinformation in particular that you’re concerned about?

The country music star Rich took a different route, as he called out John on his nonsense.
“Shouldn’t you stay so you can put a ‘check’ on the ‘misinformation’ you’re so worried about? Don’t be so weak,” Rich wrote.

This was undoubtedly a reference to it being confirmed that Twitter was deliberately censoring conservatives for years.
Whoopi Goldberg Deletes Twitter
Should he actually delete his account, John would be far from the only celebrity to leave Twitter over Musk’s acquisition of the platform. Last month, Whoopi Goldberg revealed on “The View” that she’s leaving Twitter, and she then deleted her account.
“It’s been a little over a week since Elon Musk took over Twitter and this place is a mess,” Goldberg said at the time. “I’m getting off today because I just feel like it’s so messy, and I’m tired of now having certain kinds of attitudes blocked now getting back on.”
“So I’m gonna get out, and if it settles down enough and I feel more comfortable maybe I’ll come back. But as of tonight, I’m done with Twitter,” she added.

Goldberg then complained about things that Musk has done since taking over Twitter, including his plans to charge users $8 for blue checkmarks and suspending the liberal comedian Kathy Griffin after she impersonated him on the social media site.

“People keep saying it’s free speech, but all speech is not free speech,” Goldberg concluded. “Some speech is not OK free speech. So everybody has to agree on that, but if people keep saying ‘You hurt my free speech’ it’s going to be a problem. You know what? This is our problem. But it ain’t my problem today because I’m out.”
Gigi Hadid Follows Suit
The supermodel Gigi Hadid also deleted her account around that same time.
“I deactivated my Twitter account today,” she said, according to US Weekly. “For a long time, but especially with its new leadership, it’s becoming more and more of a cesspool of hate & bigotry, and it’s not a place I want to be part of.”
“Only sorry for the fans, who I’ve loved connecting with for over a decade via Twitter, but I can’t say it’s a safe place for anyone, nor a social platform that will do more good than harm,” she continued.

Liberal celebrities can kick and scream about Twitter all that they want to, but it’s not going to stop Musk from doing what needs to be done to bring freedom of speech back to the platform. In the end, Rich said it best when he said that John is “weak,” because that’s exactly what he is.
