Slobs Score Major Win as John Fetterman Makes New York Times’ “Most Stylish” List
Big shorts and hoodie-loving Sen.-elect John Fetterman‘s (D-PA) unique fashion has landed him on the New York Times’s list of the 93 most stylish people of 2022.
Surmising Fetterman will bring his casual apparel to the Capitol, the New York Times added him to its lengthy list that features big-name celebrities such as Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Harry Styles, the late Queen Elizabeth II, and more. This year’s list includes a handful of liberal favorites such as Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

“The senator-elect from Pennsylvania is going to bring Carhartt to the Capitol,” the New York Times wrote of Fetterman.
While mostly casually clad on the campaign trail, Fetterman has deviated in the past, donning a rare snappy business suit while in the presence of President Joe Biden, who stumped for him in October in his bellwether Senate race against Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz. He later won that race, which ticked the Democrats’ Senate majority up to 51 following the midterm elections.
Fetterman’s unique countenance also earned him a cameo in the 1800s period Netflix flick The Pale Blue Eye, slated for release in theaters later this month.
The New York Times also lauded Pressley, who has alopecia, a medical term for baldness, for wearing “her bare scalp with aplomb” and lavished praise on her co-sponsoring of the CROWN Act, which seeks to create a respectful and open world for natural hair. The bill cleared the House but not the Senate.
Jackson drew acclaim for wearing statement necklaces to the Marble Palace. Meanwhile, Adams was hailed for his “swagger” and a “closet full of impeccably tailored suits.”

Another notable mention on the New York Times’s list of stylish people was the James Webb Space Telescope, a machine whose “splashy new technology served up several striking looks (into space).”
To land a spot on the list, celebrities and politicians “made us talk: about how we dress” at some point over the last year, the outlet explained.
