Disney Child Star Orlando Brown Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor Assault Accuses

NEW YORK (AP) — Former child star Orlando Brown has pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an alleged altercation in Lima, Ohio.

According to Allen County Sheriff’s Office records, the 35-year-old Brown was taken into custody Thursday morning and held on a $25,000 bond. According to the Los Angeles Times, he was taken into custody Friday at Lima Municipal Court. He was charged with aggravated menace.

The Times reported that police were summoned to a residence and witnessed a verbal argument that threatened violence.

According to the Times, Brown had not yet been represented by an attorney.

Brown is best known for his work on the Disney Channel series “That’s So Raven,” Numerous legal and personal problems have been faced, including domestic battery, resisting arrest, and drug possession.

He has been in and out of rehabilitation and medical facilities. In 2018 he reached out for help to Dr. Phil McGraw, who brought him onto his television show to discuss Brown’s struggles.

According to cops, Orlando’s brother Matthew claims he allowed the actor to stay at a home he was renovating because Orlando is homeless — and he didn’t want him to go to a homeless shelter.

Matthew informed officers that Orlando was acting “crazy” Inside the home, he accused him of raping and threatened him with both a knife and a hammer.

Matthew said that Orlando was unable to strike him physically with the weapons. He eventually surrendered to police.

We’re told Matthew and Orlando are not actually blood brothers — but that’s what he told cops.
