WATCH: Dennis Prager Challenges Viewers To ‘Do What You Fear’

What prevents people living a full, happy life? What is the most common reason people act irrationally Dennis Prager says fear is the answer.

These questions are the main focus of PragerU’s latest 5-Minute Video, called “Do What You Fear.”

Prager first emphasized the importance of leading a fulfilling and happy life, while also pointing out how fear can stop people from doing that. People fear traveling or speaking in public, so they don’t go.

“People’s fear of failure prevents them from pursuing some of the things they most ache to do. The list is almost endless,” Prager states.

The discussion then turns to why people act irrationally, as the PragerU cofounder.

Although many people fear flying, far more people die in an accident at home or in the car than in flight. “But because of their irrational fear of flying, they won’t fly or will do so very rarely. As a result, they see family members and friends who live far away less often than they would like, and they will never see almost any of the world,” Prager explains.

The COVID-19 pandemic was a case of irrational fear. It led to people being kept indoors for up to two years. Researchers continue to discover the impact of the pandemic’s separation on Americans, including increases in depression and suicide.

Prager then addressed the issue of “How do I conquer my fears?”

He advises viewers not to fear but to think rationally.

Humans, unlike animals, are able to overcome their fears and make positive changes to their lives.

Prager reminds viewers, however, that President Franklin Roosevelt once told the American people what he had said during the Great Depression. “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” He recommends that people who are looking to live a fulfilled and fulfilling life now take on a similar challenge.

Fear can be a strong emotion that drives people to defend themselves against danger. The same emotion can cause people to make irrational and unfulfilling choices, which can hinder them from living a happy life. Prager encourages people to think clearly, and to live boldly. “do what you fear.”
