CDC Promotes New Tool To Increase Schools’ Acceptance Of Gender Ideology

The Centers for Disease Control The CDC this week promoted a tool to encourage schools To increase gender consciousness in the United States, it is important to embrace gender ideology “inclusivity.” 

On Tuesday, the CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health put out Here’s a link to a resource that will help school administrators “quickly gauge inclusivity” At their schools. 

The resourceA self-assessment instrument called “,” covers everything at schools. It includes everything from policies regarding bathrooms to pronoun usage and teams. The tool was created with a variety of materials from nongovernmental organizations, such as the National LGBT Health Education Center or the Center of Excellence for Transgender Health. 

“Schools play a critical role in supporting the health and academic development of all youth, including the success of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) youth. Creating and sustaining inclusive school environments, policies, programs, and practices that include LGBTQ youth is one strategy for improving the health and academic success of all youths,” This is the text of the resource. 

The CDC and NORC research group at University of Chicago developed the resource. This resource is not available. “required” It is described as “a collection of curated resources and tools to help schools enhance LGBTQ inclusive policies, programs, and practices.” 

The “inclusivity” Assessments can be broken down into sections that are for educators, administrators, users and school staff. There are three levels to inclusivity, ranging from “Commit to Change” To “Awesome Ally.”

One section of this tool asks whether the user recognizes that gender, gender identity and sexual orientation can all be used. “experienced on a continuum” Another asks the user if he/she is okay. “assumes” gender identity. 

It also asks school employees if they use gender-neutral language “partner” Instead of “boyfriend” And “girlfriend,” in addition to using students’ preferred pronouns. 

Administrators are paid a higher rate “inclusivity” If they have policies that permit students to use the restroom/locker room according to their gender identity, grade will be given. Administrators are also asked to confirm that the policies are technologically sound. “allow student access to age-appropriate LGBTQ content and information.” 

Administrators should consult the Human Rights Watch and Gender Spectrum for information. These groups promote resources. “gender diverse” youth. 

In the educators’ section, the tool asks if there are “visual labels” Rainbow flags are a great way to show the school is. “a safe space for LGBTQ students.” Also, educators are asked if they teach sex education during sex. “information on all types of sex, not centering on penis/vagina penetrative sex.” The guide suggests using phrases such as “a body with a penis” Oder “a body with a vagina.”

This resource is needed after many schools across the country were criticized by lawmakers and parents for encouraging students to embrace gender ideologies.
