Marvel Star Jeremy Renner in “Critical” Condition After Horrifying Snow Plow Accident

The Hollywood star Jeremy Renner, who is best known for playing Hawkeye in Marvel movies, is reportedly in critical condition after a snow plow accident that took place outside his home in Lake Tahoe.

Renner Injured In Snow Plow Accident

Daily Mail reported that Renner, 51, was airlifted to the hospital on Sunday from his rural mansion, where he was injured while plowing snow. Renner’s rep has since confirmed to People Magazine that the star is “in critical but stable condition.”

While the details of the accident have not been revealed to the public, police have described it as a “weather-related” incident that involved a snow plow. A massive winter storm had hit the area over the weekend, leaving 35,000 people without power.

“We can confirm Jeremy is in critical but stable condition with injuries suffered after experiencing a weather related accident while plowing snow earlier today,” a police spokesperson said. “His family is with him and he is receiving excellent care.”

“Upon arrival, deputies coordinated with Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and REMSA Health to arrange for medical transport of Jeremy Renner via care flight to a local area hospital,” the spokesperson added.

Earlier this month, Renner tweeted that “Lake Tahoe snowfall is no joke,” adding the hashtag “#Winterwonderland.”

Renner’s Mansion

Renner’s mansion is located in a secluded area of the Sierra Nevada mountains, where 2ft of snow fell on New Year’s Day. The two-time Academy Award nominee has previously opened up about working with his local fire department in the area.

“I work with the fire departments up there and they are pretty awesome,” he once said. “They are teaching me and helping me, and I still have to get some more hours in with them.”

In a video that was posted to Instagram one year ago, Renner could be seen driving his industrial-sized snow thrower.

“I have so much respect for Mother Earth, and Mother Nature … I expect to lose the fight but I’ll always give it my best shot,” he wrote in the caption.

Renner’s History

Renner is best known for playing Avenger Hawkeye in the Marvel universe, Aaron Cross in The Bourne Legacy and William Brandt in the Mission Impossible movies. He earned back to back Oscar nominations in 2010 and 2011 for his work in The Hurt Locker and The Town

“It was like you’re playing baseball your whole life and then you suddenly get on a team and go to the World Series,” he once said of his first Oscar nomination, according to IMDB. “All of a sudden I was ‘the new guy in town’ after being here 20 years. I was like, ‘That’s fine by me, I’ll be the new guy.’”

Unlike many other celebrities, Renner appears to have stayed down to earth.

“Nobody knows what charities I support, I don’t go out and tweet about this and that,” he said in another interview. “I just go and do stuff. I’d rather affect one person’s life than try to change the planet with this and that, this and that, and scream and shout about this problem and that problem, and this and that.  It’s just too many problems.”

“If I’m going to affect one thing, then I’m going to affect that,” Renner continued. “And you do something, instead of just talking. It’s a sort of rhetoric, just like politics. It’s like rhetoric. Why don’t you do something?”

At the time of this writing, it’s unclear just how severe Renner’s injuries really are. Please join us in saying a prayer for him as he continues his recovery.
