IDAHO STUDENT MURDERS: BRYAN KOHBERGER WORE GLOVES, ACTED ‘CREEPY’ BEFORE ARREST
Kohberger, who was accused of killing four university students in their off-campus home in November, is expected not to challenge his extradition to Idaho, with his state-appointed attorney calling Tuesday’s hearing a “formality proceeding.” Kohberger is expected to plead not guilty to the charges. His attorney stated that he “believes he’s going to be exonerated.”
Kohberger was arrested on Friday in connection to the quadruple slayings, with police saying they don’t expect to make any other arrests in the case. Kohberger is facing four counts of first degree murder as well as felony theft.
“We believe we have our guy, the one that committed these murders,” James Fry, Chief of Moscow Police told ABC News Saturday
To be extradited, law enforcement must prove Kohberger is the Idaho arrest warrantee and that Kohberger was present in the vicinity at the time of the murders. According to Jason LaBar (Monroe County Chief Public Defender),
Kohberger, a doctoral student in criminal justice, is located at Washington State University’s Pullman campus. It is approximately 15 minutes from the University of Idaho. The suspect was returning from Christmas break with his father in Pennsylvania, and the two returned to Idaho around December 17. according to LaBar.
It’s still unclear Kohberger’s connection to the victims in the quadruple slayings, and police have not identified a motive. This probable-cause statement, which would give these details, is not expected to be made public until Kohberger arrives at Idaho.
