Oliver L. North: To Congress 118th: Welcome Aboard. Now get to work — Part I

Today is the inauguration of the new U.S. Congress. All those new to Washington are welcome. Here is the oath that you will take as a reminder to all my readers and to our elected representatives:

“I, (name here), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

Every time a new Congress forms, you will renew this oath. We the People expect that you will honor your vow.

Your office’s central focus and your responsibility to others who sent it is the Constitution of the United States of America with the attached 27 amendments. It is not to the White House, donors or leadership and definitely not to lobbyists.

The latter is a topic I have much to talk about, but I will start with my personal concern, my children, grandchildren and, if the Lord permits, future generations of my family. All children are my concern, as Scripture commands us to defend them from their wombs until they reach maturity.

This is an excerpt from an Epoch Times article by NaveenAthrappully, published a few weeks ago:

“School administrators who ensure that, (a) events like pep rallies and proms include same-gender and gender non-conforming couples, (b) bathrooms and lockers can be used by any student per their chosen gender, (c) athletics programs have mixed gender participation, and (d) students have access to age-appropriate LGBTQ specific online materials, resources, and information, are given an A rating (and grants).”

Mike Pompeo said recently: “The most dangerous person in the world is Randi Weingarten. It’s not a close call.” Weingarten is the president of American Federation of Teachers. He is also the most vocal proponent of the LBGT agenda, as well as other devastations that have been done to American children’s education system. Congress must intervene and stop U.S. schools from being indoctrinated and return them to teaching critical skills, reading comprehension, writing, math and history.

Despite the fact that the Senate was not flipped by the Republicans, Congress still controls it. “purse strings” By doing so, they can start defunding anti-American agenda items and departments starting at the Department of Education. Even better, they can defund all federal involvement in public education, and return control to local governments and parents.

Congress must also immediately defund any bad foreign policy that is being formulated by this corrupt White House. Start with this article from JNS, Caroline Glick recently published by JNS:

“… the Biden administration aggressively pursued its strategy of realigning the U.S. away from Israel and the Sunni Arab states by legitimizing Iran’s nuclear weapons program and enriching the regime through nuclear diplomacy …”

France and EU high-ranking officials met in Amman in December with Javad Karimi Ghodousi, a member of the Iranian Foreign Policy Committee, to continue discussions about Iran’s nuke weapons program.

“… in Amman, the Biden administration (not physically present at the meeting) and the International Atomic Energy Agency acquiesced to both of Iran’s chief demands. They will close the IAEA’s investigation of the three nuclear sites that Iran failed to disclose, and the Biden administration will make its economic concessions binding on its successors at least in the commercial arena.”

As children are attacked in school, the national security of our country is being compromised on all fronts.

I will continue to detail the steps Congress must take to honor the oath they took to office and regain trust from the American people in subsequent columns.

It’s not exaggerated that 222 Republican Congressmen are currently in charge of our nation’s future, and the integrity of our Constitution republic.
