Hon. Thaddeus G. Mcotter: “Content Moderation” Radical Censorship or a Liberalization
The Left resorts to euphemism when it comes to America.
The Left’s latest Orwellian euphemism is claiming censorship is “content moderation.” They claim that “free speech absolutists” Supporters of the First Amendment are spreading misinformation, hate, and disinformation in cyberspace and elsewhere. “save lives” Such “dangerous” content must be eliminated – i.e., “moderated” – by Big Tech with an assist by the government.
What is disinformation? Anything that the Left disagrees. But, why should the Left fear debate? Simply, it is hard to win an argument when your policies don’t work. The Left sees no reason to have a discussion when it can silence and censor its opponents. It is very logical. Unfortunately, the Left is not happy with censorship. And, of course, there is that pesky impediment to censorship, the First Amendment’s protection of free speech. What can you do?
Get rid of the paranoia and euphemisms.
On the hobnailed boot of the “New Left’s” marche through the institutions, antifree-speech radicals like Herbert Marcuse who are the proponent of “repressive tolerance” Talk about Orwellian euphemisms, have won the day. Free speech is now viewed as the major impediment to the Left’s success. Over time, then, Marcuse’s lengthy Leftist apologia for the Left’s demand of “free speech for me but not for thee” Become the current call for “content moderation.” The creation and projection of a narrative in which their hateful use of censorship to create their totalitarian state are deemed to be benevolent is called packaging. “content moderation,” The Left views its opponents with hatred, anti-science radicals or domestic terrorists. They want to cause harm and create fascist states.
The Left’s demand to be the censorious judge, jury, and executioner of what you can or cannot think or talk about is as laughable as it is despicable. There is no such thing, whether it’s run by Democrats and Republicans. “moderate” The government conspiring with Big Tech in order to silence dissent. The façade of the “one-step-removed” The government’s defense is not valid, as it does not apply to illegal searches that are carried out by police using private citizens. Collaborating to censor Americans leads to a radical, unconstrained, government that subjects sovereign citizens to unconstitutional civil right violations. These acts of maladministration are grounds for impeachment of government officials. They should also be held responsible for any legal damages caused to victims.
One need look no further than the COVID debates, where the government’s desire for mandatory vaccines required the “content moderation” Of not only dissidents, but of itself.
This cannot be repeated enough. The guise “content moderation,” government censorship – Information generated by and disseminated through the government – was employed as part of its coercive campaign to compel mandatory vaccinations of citizens, including healthcare workers, first responders, the military, and government contractors. Why? Because the truth interfered with what the government wanted to do to people – people who are, by constitutional design, not subjects but sovereigns.
It is a lesson lost upon a radical government’s promoters and practitioners. Ted Lieu, U.S. Representative (D-Calif.) demonstrates this in a tweet patronizingly deigned to enlighten the public regarding the government’s censorship of itself and others over the COVID information:
After Elon Musk and others pointed out Rep. Lieu’s tweet was false and outdated information, he deleted it. What Rep. Lieu’s behavior evinces is how radical government will not only falsely claim the truth to be “misleading” It will attempt to censor it to achieve its ends by issuing misinformation, disinformation and malinformation as well. The government can censor the public to prevent them from accessing information. “speaking truth to power,” radical government will be unstoppable, and the foundational principle that the public is sovereign over a servant government will join Rep. Lieu’s tweet down history’s memory hole.
Do not make a mistake “Content moderation” Radical censorship is a form of radical censorship that leads to a radical government that tramples every citizen’s rights and makes them subordinates. After all, if the government can censor itself, what can’t it do to you?
