California’s Small Business Owners Are Set on Fire by Would-Be Arsonists. They End up setting themselves on fire.

Arsonists attempted to set a small business on fire by setting it alight. California This week, but not before setting themselves ablaze.

Surveillance video footage of the business showed masked vandals spraying gasoline on the front of Servicio de Imigracion (a Bakersfield tax and immigration agency), and trying to set it on fire. The gasoline ignites instantly in their faces and catches them both off guard.

The first suspect sprints off, flames licking his right leg. The second suspect attempts to flee but slips on the sidewalk. He falls over again and gets up. The flames touch his right arm, catching it in the hoodie. As he runs, he screams and sets his sleeve ablaze. A second angle showed that the flames caught on the second man’s shirt tail and lit his back on fire as well.

Local news outlet interviewed firefighters ABC 23 They were able to extinguish the fire in just 10 minutes of arriving on the scene. According to them, the fire was contained to a garage.

Max Solorzano is the owner of Servicio de Imigracion and told the outlet that he is disappointed in Bakersfield officials because they have not done enough to ensure the safety of the city. “They have to work harder in that aspect, in keeping the community safe,” He said this in an interview. “We are a small business and we help many people, so there will be people who will not be able to receive our services due to inactivity. That is what most saddens me. We help many farmworker families with their immigration processes, we help people do taxes. We ask our clients to have patience with us, we will get through this.”
