FBI increases reward for Capitol Hill Pipe Bomber to $500,000

As the two-year mark approaches, the victim’s identity is still a top priority. The assailant is still at large. On the eve the Jan. 6 Capitol Riot, a video shows the perpetrator placing two pipe bombs close to the Republican National Committee’s headquarters and the Democratic National Committee.

“With the significantly increased reward, we urge those who may have previously hesitated to contact us — or who may not have realized they had important information — to review the information on our website and come forward with anything relevant,” David Sundberg, assistant director of the FBI Washington Field Office, said this.
The reward for information was $100,000 previously. Although neither bombs were detonated it raised serious security concerns for the Vice President-elect.

In connection with the Capitol Riot, over 900 people were charged, including 430 who pleaded guilty and just over 500 who were sentenced.
