Classified Docs From When Biden Was VP Discovered at Penn Biden Center
A collection of records from Biden is President time as Vice President, including as a “small number of documents with classified markings,” Richard Saubel, White House special counsel, said that the president’s personal lawyers discovered them at the Penn Biden Center on Nov. 2.
While they were preparing for the move, the attorneys found the documents in an unlocked closet. This was the office that the president used from mid 2017 to the beginning of the 2020 campaign.
Saubel stated that the National Archives received notification of the discovery and took possession of documents on November 3, Saubel added.
“The documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives,” Saubel made the statement in a statement. “Since that discover, the President’s personal attorneys have cooperated with he Archives and the Department of Justice in process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives.”

According to CBS News who reported the first on Monday about the discovery of documents, Attorney General Merrick Galrland appointed John Lausch U.S. Assistant for the Northern District of Illinois to review the matter.
