WATCH: Biden Pressed After Classified Docs From His Vice Presidency Found At Biden Think Tank
Monday night, President Joe Biden declined to answer questions about a classified report he received as Vice President during his tenure. It was allegedly found at a Biden think-tank.
CBS News reported on the discovery of approximately 10 classified documents that Biden had when he was vice president, at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.
Attorney General Merrick Grland Responded To aid in the discovery, made in November, Trump appointed John Lausch, U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, to review classified material and to determine the next steps.
Biden was pressed about the matter while meeting with leftist Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The Republican National Committee (RNC), later uploaded video, showed Biden staring down at his notes when he was asked questions about the matter.

The files were discovered by Biden’s personal attorneys when they “were packing files housed in a locked closet to prepare to vacate office space at the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C.,” Richard Sauber was special counsel to President Obama, according to CBS News.
CBS was told by sources that the information was in a box with non-classified materials.
CNN reported Some of the classified material that was discovered included top-secret files. “sensitive compartmented information,” The materials may contain highly sensitive information derived from intelligence sources, which is a sign that they are classified as highly sensitive.
Sauber said that the moment the material was found – on November 2 – that the White House’s counsel’s office immediately notified the National Archives and the material was retrieved the next day.
After learning of the classified material, National Archives alerted DOJ. The FBI is also involved.
“The discovery of these documents was made by the President’s attorneys,” Sauber said. “The documents were not the subject of any previous request or inquiry by the Archives. Since that discovery, the President’s personal attorneys have cooperated with the Archives and the Department of Justice in a process to ensure that any Obama-Biden Administration records are appropriately in the possession of the Archives.”
The DOJ’s review of the material was the first step to determine what additional actions might be warranted.
According to the report, Lausch is the only remaining U.S. attorney from the Trump administration. The other holdover is David Weiss, who is conducting a criminal investigation into Biden’s son, Hunter Biden.
