Dems Lie About IRS Audits
IRS focuses its audits in the middle and poor. It is a fact.
The IRS continues to live up to its reputation of promoting low-income taxpayers over those with more wealth, despite $80 billion in new funding.https://t.co/eKhEO5V37E

What was the Democrats’ response to the fact that the Republican majority in Congress had cut funding for 87,000 new IRS agents as its first order of business?
You can accuse them of working for the wealthy.
It is shameful but not surprising. @HouseGOP’s first order of business in this Congress is to protect corporate America and ultra-wealthy individuals who are illegally avoiding taxes.

On Wednesday, Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) Data released It was provided by the Internal Revenue Service with information about audits that the agency performed in fiscal 2022. Despite the infusion of new funding earmarked for the IRS via last year’s Inflation Reduction Act, the agency continued historic trends of hassling primarily low-income taxpayers, with relatively few millionaires and billionaires getting caught up in the audit sweep.
“The taxpayer class with unbelievably high audit rates—five and a half times virtually everyone else—were low-income wage-earners taking the earned income tax credit,” reported TRAC, Noting The poorest taxpayers are “easy marks in an era when IRS increasingly relies upon correspondence audits yet doesn’t have the resources to assist taxpayers or answer their questions.”
In fact “if one ignores the fiction of auditing a millionaire through simply sending a letter through the mail, the odds that millionaires received a regular audit by a revenue agent (1.1%) was actually less than the audit rate of the targeted lowest income wage-earners whose audit rate was 1.27 percent!”
It is difficult to argue that you should believe the opposite of what any Democrat claims to be the truth. They will likely start using double reverse psychology. You get the idea. They are most likely lying if they make an argument that has moralistic content. The IRS is not your friend. It is best to eliminate the IRS and not increase its funding by $80 million.
The Senate Democratic Majority BLOCKED a bill to protect lower-income families against increased audits after Democrats supersized the IRS.
To finance their climate plans, they must increase tax audits on the poor. That is what this fight is all about. https://t.co/lOGnHQL2Az

The tax agency is unfortunately the worst. The IRS is in fact woefully understaffed due to the current tax code. However, the audit department is not affected. Instead, the IRS is completely incapable of providing reliable assistance for taxpayers trying to navigate the complex tax code. There aren’t enough people to answer questions, and the code itself is so ridiculous that the answers you get from any particular IRS agent on the phone will likely be unreliable. Even if the advice you receive is sound, another IRS employee could disagree with your decision and you will be left holding the bag.
Although the IRS is in serious trouble, it’s not as bad as our tax code. An agency that manages a confusing and inconsistent tax code that is constantly changing by the minute can’t be fixed with money. Wealthy people and corporations simply hire expensive lawyers–often former IRS agents themselves–to get them out of jams.
What is the difference between you and me? But not so much. We are the easy targets.
Republican efforts to cut off IRS funding, which holds the ultra-wealthy responsible, is a dishonest attack against working Americans who pay their fair share. Tonight’s legislation left working families in the dark. This was something I proudly opposed. pic.twitter.com/aHiNHIVl7N

I’m not inclined to view the average IRS employee like a storm trooper who is out to get me. Most of them are doing boring jobs and trying to save their pension. I wouldn’t do it because it would drive me insane, but if you are an accountant it would probably be a pretty good gig.
However, the system itself is corrupt and was designed to be so. Complexity is a benefit to those in power who are able to navigate it easily. It’s a problem for everyone else.
It can be replaced with a flat tax, and the problem is solved. It would be too simple, so the Left does all “anti-millionaire and billionaire” While they are accumulating cash and power for their own use.
Breaking: President Biden says he will veto Republicans’ first bill, which would protect rich people who cheat on their taxes and raise the deficit by over $114,000,000,000, if it comes to his desk. https://t.co/T2hbCgC7L2

Let me know if you are a person who actually believes the Democrats believe in tax fairness. This little story will remind you:
A big-shot Hollywood lawyer reportedly paid off Hunter Biden’s delinquent taxes — which a source told The Post amounted to more than $2 million — as President Biden’s notoriously troubled son awaits the results of a Delaware grand jury’s investigation into his personal finances.
Kevin Morris, an entertainment lawyer and novelist, made a fortune representing co-creators of “South Park” He was the co-producer of Tony Award winning production “The Book of Mormon,” footed Hunter Biden’s overdue taxes totaling over $2 million — more than twice what was previously reported, a source familiar with conversations between the two told The Post.
Morris, whom Hunter Biden’s friends call his latest “sugar brother,” has also been funding the 52-year-old’s lifestyle in Los Angeles — including his rent and living expenses, the source said.
The attorney has also been advising the president’s son on how to structure his art salesAccording to the source.
The president’s son. Failure to pay $2 Million in taxes. When caught, he becomes a multimillionaire and pays off the debt.
That’s right. If you are connected to the right people–and most zillionaires and major corporations are–you can get away with anything. Even though their armed enforcement officers are trained, they target small business owners.
This IRS recruitment program is “taking down a landscape business owner who failed to properly report how he paid for his vehicles,” Not “taking down a billionaire who uses the corporate jet for private trips.”
