Victor Davis Hanson: What Caused the Political Hysteria?
The Left is mad about former President Donald J. Trump, past, present and future.
The current Democratic Party as well as NeverTrump “conservatives” It was assumed that Trump is and will remain so toxic that it doesn’t matter what his evil deeds are.
They believe any means necessary to stop him are justifiable. These zealots insist that such extraordinary measures should never be replicated or institutionalized by their adversaries, and even less, should they ever be boomeranged back at their creators.
This raises the question of whether the Republicans should respond in kind to the fact that they have regained control of the House of Representatives.
In light of the Mar-a-Lago raid investigation, could there be another special prosecutor for President Joe Biden to investigate the missing documents in his office?
Can House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) ever be considered to be too inflammatory given that his predecessor Nancy Pelosi (D.Calif.) ripped into the president’s State of the Union Address on national television.
How many Democratic House members should not be given committee assignments by the Congress to remind them that Pelosi’s rejections of Republican nominees were a horrible precedent?
To stop the criminalization and criminalization of political differences, how many subpoenas from Congress should be issued to Democratic politicians?
All former presidents’ private homes, drawers, and closets will now be subject to FBI raids in order to protect them. “classified” Documents were not incorrectly stored there
Is Biden’s current home also a possible target due to his careless handling of classified foreign-policy papers? This is almost exactly the same as the laptop of Hunter Biden, and Ashley Biden’s diary.
Is it ever a good idea for a first-term president to be impeached after he loses his party’s majority at the House, but without any chance of conviction in the Senate? A similar impeachment would send a warning signal to Biden to keep his oath and enforce U.S. immigration laws.
Is it possible to make an impeachment call by calling the phone, because Trump has mixed domestic and foreign politics?
Trump’s Ukrainian call was no different than Obama’s 2012 qud pro quo in Seoul (South Korea), where he requested that the Russian president make a deal to Vladmir Putin. Obama would then be flexible in his missile defense policy, while Obama would remain calm.
Putin did the same and delayed invading Ukraine until Obama won. Obama also made sure that there were no joint missile defense programs in Eastern Europe. Is this in America’s best interest or Obama’s and therefore similarly impeachable
Biden may have mixed foreign policy and politics as he approached the midterm elections. Biden, for example, kept reducing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve’s levels to dangerously low levels and begging foreign dictators to pump additional oil.
Biden was trying to win the votes of angry commuters who were being pushed around by rising fuel prices. He also appeased the Left by not ordering additional drilling for oil and gas. Did that move serve the nation’s (or Biden’s) best interests?
What’s wrong with the House looking into whether the FBI infiltrated or contracted social media companies to distort news coverage and suppress free expression for American citizens?
The Church Committee’s 1975 investigation of the CIA was a necessity according to the Left. This committee found that the agency was partnering up with telecommunications corporations in order to monitor the data of citizens who were on CIA watch lists. Do you sound like the FBI today?
Did the Democratic House have a good idea to release Trump’s tax returns.
Would the Republican House do the same thing with the tax records of the Biden consortium?
In Congress, there was much talk of using the 25th Amendment in order to remove Trump from office. A Yale psychiatrist testified that the president was dangerously imbalanced. Trump passed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment despite being asked for aptitude testing.
Should the House follow in the footsteps of the Democrats? Should doctors review Biden’s inconsistent utterances, fantasy biographic stories, and physical fragility to determine if he is compos mentalis? Do we want to set a precedent?
Is it wise for a president who has been defeated to resign and vows to come back in four years to take office?
The House did not impeach Trump because Biden warned the Ukrainians that he was likely to be corrupt. Do the Democratic interminable efforts to find Trump’s possible opponent in 2024 constitute more than one Trump phone call to Ukraine?
In their self-righteousness, these supposedly intelligent partisans ignore ancient laws of Karma, Nemesis and payback’s all.
