U.S. Border Patrol Reports Three More Convicted Sex Offenders Stopped in Three Days
Border Patrol agents Customs and Border Protection announced Wednesday, Wednesday, that three more convicted sex offenders were caught trying to enter the U.S illegally in the same area. They were all caught within four days.
All of the fears were realized in the Del Rio Sector in Southwest Texas. Starting Jan. 13, Brackettville agents intercepted seven migrants found to be illegally in the U.S. Nicolas Agaton Hernandez (41), a Mexican national, was arrested in 2013. He was convicted of statutory enticement and child sex offences.
Agaton Hernandez was detained for five year for his offenses. He was finally released in 2018.
Del Rio agents detained Juan Jose Garcia-Ortiz (27), a Mexican national convicted in 2020 of online solicitation to minors in Georgetown, Texas. CBP stated that Garcia-Ortiz was confronted with two other migrants who were trying to avoid detection.

He was placed in 30 days detention and 10 years probation. The most recent deportation occurred in 2020.
Eagle Pass agents detained six migrants on Monday near Eagle Pass, Texas. CBP stated that Jose Geovani Flores (40), a Honduran national was convicted in Austin of second-degree sexual abuse in 2010.
Flores was sentenced for two years in prison and deported in 2020.

CBP announced in a press release that every convicted felon will face re-entry charges after deportation. This can carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
Border Patrol agents detained three more convicted sex offenders last week in a span of just four days. They were all located within the border sector of Del Rio.
There were more than 2.3 million migrant encounters in FY 2022, and FY 2023 has started off with even higher numbers – there were more than 233,740 in November alone. Over 73,000 illegal immigrants managed to evade Border Patrol agents.
