Four Illegals Bused to NYC Arrested for Allegedly Stealing $12k From Macy’s
Officials said Monday that four migrants from Texas who were traveling to New York City on a bus from Texas were caught stealing thousands of dollars worth merchandise from a Nassau County Mall.
Wrallan Cabezas Meza, 19, Miguel Angel Rojas, 21, Rafael Rojas, 27, and Jose Garcia Escobar, 30, are accused of driving from the Big Apple to Garden City and stealing $12,489 in goods from Macy’s Roosevelt Field earlier this month, according to county police.
Shortly after the Jan. 9 heist in Hampstead, cops arrested Meza and his crew for failing to use a turn signal on a 2006 BMW with fake plates.
The suspects later told a Spanish-speaking Nassau County detective that they came to New York City on a bus from the Lone Star State, Detective Lt. Richard Lebrun said.
According to Nassau County cops, Meza crossed the US-Mexico frontier on July 4, 2022. The others were taken up north in September.
According to police, Miguel Rojas and Rafael Rojas lived at the Westin Hotel on West 57th Street, Manhattan.
Police didn’t say exactly what was stolen from the department store.
The four suspects were seen in court on Jan. 10, and were released on bail.
On Monday, Bruce Blakeman, Executive of Nassau County, stated that he agreed with Mayor Eric Adams during a press conference “that we have a crisis at the border and it has now migrated across the United States to the New York City metropolitan area.”
“But I want to make it clear: Here in Nassau County, our police department is going to be vigilant in making sure that anybody who commits a crime is tracked down, caught and arrested,” Blakeman said.
Many thousands of migrants who had come to America for asylum have been bused to New York City.
This has led to five new buildings being opened in the city. Humanitarian Emergency Response and Relief Centers Hotel rooms can be used to accommodate the homeless. You can also find the city in even tried to tap cruise ships as temporary housing.
Adams called for federal and state legislators to foot the bill to accommodate migrants in New York. Since the spring, more that 39,000 asylum seekers have entered New York.
The mayor has said the crisis is costing the city — which already had a strained shelter system — millions of dollars.
