Poll: Only 14% Support Amnesty for Illegals
A Convention of States Action/Trafalgar Group survey found that only 14 percent of Americans support citizenship and amnesty for illegal immigrants. Breitbart News first obtained the results from the survey.
Three quarters of U.S. citizens believe that anyone who has entered the country illegally ought to be expelled. Another 59.5 percent believed that people who have entered illegally should be removed and that asylum reviewers should be completed. Only 14.3 percent think that those who have illegally entered the country should be granted asylum and citizenship.
It is perhaps more striking that only 3% of Hispanic voters (2.8%) believe people who have entered the country illegally or are under the asylum review process should be granted citizenship and amnesty, while 79% of Hispanic voters think that illegal immigrants should be expelled.
According to the survey: “55.6 percent of Hispanic voters believe that those who entered the country illegally should be expelled and that those who are seeking asylum should have their reviews completed and granted asylum or be removed,” While 23.3 percent of Hispanic voters voted, “believe that only those in asylum review should be granted amnesty and citizenship,” Summary of the survey.
Furthermore, 63% of respondents consider securing the southern borders a priority. “essential to U.S. national security,” A majority of respondents believe that state governors also play a part, and have a responsibility for ensuring the safety and security of the border.
The House, under Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) leadership, will not consider any legislation that grants amnesty to illegal aliens, making that vow during an exclusive interview with Breitbart News.
“We know first and foremost one of our greatest strengths is the rule of law, so you have to have an immigration system based upon the rule of law. You have to secure the border. The survey comes on the heels of President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reaffirming It has “no records” on over 377,000 border crossers released into the U.S. interior via the ATD program.
