Uncovering Deep State Corruption a Top Priority to House Republicans: Stefanik

Elise Stefanik from New York, House GOP Conference Chair, stated that Republicans will place top priority on ensuring that the executive agencies are properly supervised to eradicate corruption from the federal government.

Stefanik was elected to the Republican House of Representatives on Tuesday appointed Kevin McCarthy, House Speaker, will serve on the Select Subcommittee on the Warirization of the Federal Government.

In an exclusive interview with The Federalist on Wednesday morning, Stefanik characterized the select panel, which was established under the Judiciary Committee led by Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, as House Republicans’ primary vehicle for pursuing accountability for the Biden administration’s abuses.

“A top priority for House Republicans is rooting out the weaponization of the federal government against everyday Americans,” said Stefanik. Stefanik is the No. 3 lawmaker in GOP leadership highlighted the nation’s top intelligence agencies as the committee’s primary focus.

“The FBI and DOJ are ripe for oversight, and they deserve oversight,” While she stated that both agencies would be investigated, she also promised to investigate the National Institutes of Health (IRS) and Internal Revenue Service. Both agencies “have run rampant in targeting Americans,” Stefanik stated that Congress has made a number of improvements to its infrastructure. “constitutional duty” To ensure that oversight is done effectively.

“Democrats failed to do that when we were in one-party rule,” She added.

The question of whom the committee intends to subpoena is still open. “We’re going to make that decision as a select committee,” Stefanik said.

Other notable members of the Republican conference who were named to the panel included Thomas Massie, Kentucky Congressman, and Harriet Hageman, Wyoming Rep. Hageman won the August election. toppled Three-term incumbent Liz Cheney in Wyoming’s Republican primary by 37 points. Cheney, who ran House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Select Committee on Jan. 6 as vice chair, relied on Democrats switching parties to blunt a loss that might have otherwise been near unanimous among the state’s Republicans.

McCarthy endorsed Hageman is running in the race, two years after Cheney supported a primary challenger to Massie. This was from her leadership seat. House Republicans won the spring of 2021 replaced Cheney with Stefanik serving as GOP conference Chair.

Stefanik will assume the lead role in the new panel investigating the weaponization and abuse of the federal government, just as she did during the impeachment case of former President Donald Trump in 2019.

“The government has the responsibility to serve the American people, not go after them,” She said.

While Pelosi barred McCarthy’s appointments to the Select Committee on Jan. 6, Stefanik said the new House speaker was likely to seat Democrats on the probe. However, no minority appointments have been made.

McCarthy kept his word Tuesday night bar California Democrat Reps. Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell and the House Intelligence Committee. McCarthy also promised to remove Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Rep. from the Foreign Affairs Committee. Stefanik told The Federalist that while it was ultimately the speaker’s choice to approve Democrat appointments to the Select Committee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, neither Schiff, Swalwell, nor Omar would likely be admitted to the panel.

McCarthy explained to reporters on Capitol Hill Tuesday night that the trio of lawmakers would still serve on committees but none related to the nation’s top secrets.

“They’ll serve on committees,” McCarthy said: “but they will not serve on a place that has national security relevance because integrity matters to me.”
