Mike Tyson Sued for Alleged Rape Dating Back to 1990’s
Mike Tyson faces a lawsuit stemming from an alleged incident during which he is accused in violently raping another woman in the 1990s.
The complaint did not reveal the identity of the woman. She is seeking damages in excess of $5 million. “physical, psychological, and emotional injury” The incident allegedly led to the following: The woman claims that the incident occurred in Albany — the same city where the lawsuit was filed — in the 1990s.
She claims Tyson raped the woman in his limousine after he met her at Septembers, a popular local nightclub.
The woman asserts that the boxer He invited her to ride in his limousine. He offered to take her and a friend to a party. According to her suit, Tyson touched and kissed her immediately after she entered the limo.
“I told him no several times and asked him to stop, but he continued to attack me,” The woman spoke, per The New York Post. “He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me.”
Tyson was convicted of rape in the early 1990s
Although the suit doesn’t give a precise date, it does mention that the incident occurred. It does mention that the incident occurred sometime in early 1990s.
This would mean that the incident occurred around the same period. Tyson Desiree Washington, 18, was raped by the boxer. The boxer was convicted of raping Desiree Washington, 18, in 1992. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment.
The lawsuit was filed under New York’s Adult Survivor’s Act. This act, which allows sexual assault victims to bring cases to court, went into effect in November 2012.
Victims have a one-year window within which to file claims, even though the incident happened decades ago. Other high-profile people have also been sued since the law was passed. This includes Bill Cosby and Leon Black, who were investors, as well as former President Donald Trump.
