Guest Star Confronts ‘Boy Meets World’ Cast With Awkward Moment That Bothered Him For 30 Years

Actor Adam Scott confronted the cast of the hit sitcom’s stars “Boy Meets World,” An awkward exchange he shared with his guest star from the show, which he claimed had bothered him for nearly 29 years.

Scott was a regular guest as Griff during the show’s Second and third seasons made the revelation during an appearance “Pod Meets World” — alongside cast members Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence), Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter), and Will Friedle (Eric Matthews) — nearly three decades after the fact.

“I get to finally ask Rider about this thing. I don’t know if you remember this, Rider,” Scott began — prompting Fishel to exclaim that she was on the “edge of her seat” We waited to hear the outcome.

“Literally, this has been tugging at me for 29 years,” Scott continued, and he set the scene for them: it was the end of the second season, and cast members were celebrating together on the set — but things apparently took an awkward turn when he approached Strong.

“I go, ‘Hey, congratulations buddy,’ and I give you a high five and I go in and hug you and as I do that, you push me off and give me this look like, ‘Who the f*** are you?’ and then you run away,” Scott spoke highly of Strong

Strong seemed clearly stunned when asked “What’s the matter?” “Are you serious?! Why would I do that?! That doesn’t sound like me at all. I’m generally a hugger!”

Scott was relieved to say that knowing Strong hadn’t intentionally snubbed his feelings reduced the trauma.

“He was this little kid and I was this stranger grown up … again, I had no idea what I was supposed to do,” Scott said, noting that at the time he appeared on the show, he had been in his 20s while the show’s main characters were all teenagers. “It seemed like we were all supposed to be joyous and hug each other. Oh God, it was horrifying. That’s such a relief. I remember being surprised I got the call to be in Season 3 two months later because of that. It’s so funny. I’m so happy.”

Early on, the podcast took a different turn when Friedle, a regular guest cast member, revealed that Scott had intimidated him when Scott first guest-starred.

“You were instantly part of the gang that let me know I wasn’t invited to the party,” Friedle stated that Scott had formed bonds with several older guest stars during his first visit. “I look back to it as like, he was too cool for me to even walk up to and be like, ‘Hey, welcome to the show.’”

“They were the first ones to come up and talk to me,” Scott explained that the stakes were lower because they were guest stars, rather than regular series cast members. Scott also mentioned that other guest stars were nervous about approaching regular cast members.

“From our perspective it was completely inverted,” Strong replies. “The fact that you were nervous is just mind blowing to me!”
