Founder of UK Drag Queen Story Hour Raises Money for Pedophile’s Funeral
The founder of Drag Queen Story Hour UK has started fundraising to pay for the funeral expenses of a pedophile, drag queen, who was discovered dead Monday.
Aida H.Dee, drag performer and fellow drag queen, launched a crowdfunder on Jan 23 for funeral expenses of his friend and fellow drag queen Darren Moore. Reduxx.
Moore, a convicted sex offender Drag performer and went missing following a Sunday night show at a gay club. He was found dead on Monday morning, still in his entire stage costume.
South Wales Police claim they have taken a 50-year old man into custody on suspicion for manslaughter.
Moore was convicted of four counts of rape on a boy under age 14 and served three years in a Young Offenders’ Institution.
Reduxx claims that Moore was prohibited from having contact children after this conviction. Moore was later found working as a youth gymnastics and dance instructor, and was convicted of violating the lifetime order.
This resulted in his being sentenced to a three-year sex offender’s treatment program, a 24-month supervision order, 300 hours of community service, and a six-month curfew with an electronic tag.
Moore was both a jeweler, and a drag performer at the time he died. Dolly, CC Quinn, Crystal Couture were his drag names. Moore’s jewelry was exhibited at RuPaul’s 2020 Dragcon event in London.
“Taken unjustly!” Dee posted a message on Facebook, with a link that led to a GoFundMe page. “I’d like to give my friend the send off he deserves.”
Moore is not mentioned anywhere in the fundraiser or on the Facebook post.
Moore was described as “Sab Samuel” by Dee. “an exuberant human being, taken from the world too early.”
“Rest in power,” Samuel, who shared the link to the fundraising campaign multiple times on his Facebook page, added.
“Anyone who knew Darren would know how he was never understated in his appearance and costume,” Read the GoFundMe. “His larger than life character and charisma was something that you’ll never forget. We’d like to support Darren and the family and give Darren the biggest send off. If you’re able too and can afford a few quid, please donate what you can to ensure we do him proud.”
Samuel has faced criticism in the past for his choice of drag costume for children’s storytime events, with what Reduxx called its “prominent genital bulge,” but this hasn’t stopped libraries Other children’s events Book his act.
