Treasury Refuses to Turn Over Hunter Biden Records to House Oversight Committee

It sure looks like there’s a lot Joe Biden’s Treasury Department doesn’t want us to see. 

The month began earlier. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer Janet Yellen, Treasury Secretary, was pressed for information on business transactions of the Biden family members and associates that had been flagged suspicious. Comer pointed out that there are many more than “150 of Hunter Biden and the Biden network’s international business transactions have generated suspicious activity reports (SARs) by U.S. banks for further review by the Treasury Department to determine if there is illegal activity or a threat to national security.”

In response, the Treasury offers zilch. 

According to HotAir:

The Treasury’s Legislative Affairs chief, Jonathan Davidson, responded to Comer, telling him to basically go pound sand. His letter wasn’t quite that blunt, but he declined to provide any records, saying that the Treasury would need to know more details about why the committee would need such “highly sensitive” information. His justification for declining the request doesn’t appear to be very substantial, however. 

Comer was told by Davidson that he requires more information on why the panel requested such details. “highly sensitive” information.

The response may have come from Jonathan Davidson, but you can rest assured that he wouldn’t make that sort of decision without Janet Yellen signing off on it. And it’s a safe bet that the President was flagged in advance as well.

Biden’s first day as a president was marked by Jen Psaki, then-Press Secretary, promising that the administration would “… “bring transparency and truth back to the government to share the truth, even when it’s hard to hear.” 

It’s all good.
