Memphis PD Releases Video of Tyre Nichols Traffic Stop That Led to Murder Charges Against Officers
Memphis PD released on Friday the bodycam footage of Tyre Nicks from the police stop. Nichols died three days later.

Memphis Police Department released additional video that shows officers arriving at the scene. Nichols lies face down on the ground.
The city of Memphis was prepared for the impact of the footage’s release, and shop owners boarded up their shops in anticipation.
Officers pulled Nichols over on suspicion of reckless driving. Officers approached Nichols’ vehicle, and they had a confrontation that led Nichols to flee on foot.
Officers pursued Nichols and detained him before taking him into custody. After the incident, Nichols complained about shortness of breath and was taken to the hospital. He died three days later on January 10.
