Super Bowl Champion Derek Wolfe Reveals Threats From Radical Animal Rights Activists After Killing Mountain Lion
Derek Wolfe, the former Denver Broncos defensive lineman and Super Bowl winner, was able to track down a mountain lion in the area. The mountain lion had previously terrorized the neighborhood by attacking two pet dogs as well as a mule and killed a mule. Wolfe posted an image of the dead mountain lion on his Instagram page.
“*Predator Control* Late Tuesday night I got a call from @huntnest to see if I wanted to stalk a giant Tom (male mountain lion) who has been wreaking havoc in a rural neighborhood,” Wolfe.
“He had already killed two of her dogs and was living under her porch, nervous what he might do next. We found a fresh 4×4 mule deer he had just killed. We hiked straight up 2500ft and down the other side, then back up again, back down the other side and then back up again to 9600ft,” He continued. “Exhausted, dehydrated, cramping I drew back my @hoytbowhunting and sent an @sevrbraodheads through him.
“Then I had to crawl backwards down the mountain with him to get him to the truck I fell 10ft off a rock face on the way down lol. Any guess how big this thing was?” This concludes the post.
Wolfe, who is a Colorado-licensed hunter, has been subject to severe backlash by self-professed animal rights activists, who threatened Wolfe’s children and him for killing animals they considered to be a threat. ‘innocent’ creature.
“I expected that some people would be upset about it because that’s just the way it goes,” Wolfe stated in an “a href=”https://www.outkick.com/ex-nfl-player-derek-wolfe-says-animal-rights-activists-threatened-him-and-his-children-after-ethically-hunting-a-mountain-lion/”>interview with Outback’s Dan Dakich regarding the matter.
“You can’t please everybody. But the amount of hate and death threats, you know, threatening my children, saying that they hope pedophiles come after my kids, and this and that, it’s like, ‘What kind of sicko are you?’”

Wolfe continued, “It started with an animal activist organization; I’m not going to say the name. They basically enticed people to attack me on Instagram, and Twitter, added me, and then they were kind of throwing false statements out like, ‘He had no right to do this. This is murder. There’s always another way, a better way. This isn’t conservation.’ Which is all false.”
“These folks don’t want to think logically. They’re making their decisions emotionally.”
Wolfe sees some silver linings, despite the backlash. When asked by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson what he planned to do with the wild cat’s body, Wolfe said that the meat was already processed and intended on “going to eat that cat.”
