Durham Used Russian Intelligence Memos to Gain Access to Emails Linked to George Soros

Durham requested the emails in order to prove the authenticity of the Russian memos. The Russian memos detailed purported plans by Hillary Clinton Her then-rival Donald Trump By tying him with the public leakage of Democratic National Committee emails from 2016, which were allegedly purchased by Russian hackers.
Durham sought an order from a federal court to allow him to access information about emails sent by Leonard Benardo to Durham, an executive vice-president of Soros’s Open Society Foundations.
In the Russian memos, there were allegations that Benardo and Debbie Wasserman Schultz discussed the fact that Loretta Lynch, former Attorney General, promised to stop the investigation into Clinton’s emails getting carriedaway. Washington Post reported. Lynch Famously, a 2016 meeting was held With former President Bill Clinton at an airport landing strip, although she denied any allegations.
Durham was reportedly rejected twice by a judge in his bid for Benardo’s emails, who concluded the memos were too weak of a justification to impede upon Benardo’s privacy. Durham ultimately chose to bypass the court decision by using grand jury power to pursue the emails. But there is no evidence that Durham ever cited the emails in the cases his investigation further pursued. New York Times reported.
The demands were complied by Benardo and his foundation, rather than being challenged in court. It wasn’t reported whether Durham subpoenaed Benardo. Or if he just threatened it. As alleged in memos, Benardo denied having communications with Schultz.

According to William Barr, Durham was selected to investigate the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. On that matter, he became the special counsel of the Justice Department.
Ironically, President Donald Trump and his supporters had a key issue with the FBI’s Russia investigation. This was due to the Steele dossier. It is a highly suspect document that made incendiary allegations against Trump. According to recent revelations, Durham used a similar approach when searching Benardo’s emails.
Durham is currently working on his final report.
