Georgia Bulldogs Quarterback Stetson Bennett Arrested on Public Intoxication Charges
According to the Dallas Police Department, Stetson Bennett, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback was charged with public intoxication on Sunday.
The player was Arrest WFAA-TV reports that a man was pounding on doors in Old East Dallas at 6:15 a.m. on Sunday, after officers were called to investigate a disturbance in the 1600 block Tribeca Way.
Bennet, 25 years old, was taken into custody at the city’s detention center. Officials didn’t say whether Bennet banged on doors or when he would be released.
Bennet helped Lead the Bulldogs to a 65-7 blowout win over TCU in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Los Angeles on Jan. .9, the Bulldogs’ second consecutive national title. He threw for 4,127 yard and 27 touchdowns in the season.
While the University of Georgia has not released a statement about Bennet’s arrest or his release, Bennet has been removed from their student list. He graduated Dec. 31st with an economics degree.
Bennett was 28-3 in his first season as a starter, and was named offensive MVP for each of his CFP games.
Bennet’s future is still undetermined. According to ESPN, he’s Talk Consider applying to law school. There is still the possibility to join the NFL.
Sports reporters still believe he could be a late-round selection for the upcoming NFL Draft.
