November: a href=”https://www.theepochtimes.com/t-republicans”>Republicans Unveiled a huge 1,050-page whistleblower report “weaponization” Federal government (PDF).
Republicans are now back in the majority and have subpoena authority under their control. They hope to do more about these allegations.
Gabbard, a former Democrat, was a representative from Hawaii and gained national attention during her 2020 presidential campaign. Gabbard marketed herself as moderate and focused much of her campaign energy against the many foreign entanglements, wars, and conflicts the United States is currently involved in.
Gabbard has officially resigned from her party since then. You can quit the Democratic Party October 2022
Gabbard then announced that she had signed up with Fox News as an contributor. She will make her debut on Tucker Carlson Tonight in December 2022.
Gabbard appeared on the program once. denounced the FBI raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, which many Republicans point to as an instance of the “weaponization” The federal government is used for political ends.
Whistleblower report
Republicans offered an indication in the whistleblower’s report of the issues they could investigate through Weaponization Committee.
The FBI encouraged its agents to artificially increase the number of domestic violence extremism (DVE), incidents, one of the most important findings in the report.
Republicans: Whistleblowers “have described how FBI leadership is pressuring line agents to reclassify cases as domestic violent extremism even if the matter does not meet the criteria.”
The attempted kidnapping by the FBI of Michigan’s governor was at least one DVE. Gretchen Whitmer, the FBI had a much greater role. In the days leading up to the 2020 election, a plot to kidnap Whitmer was revealed. Whitmer’s COVID policy sparked heated national debates.
The would-be kidnappers accused were right-wing and reports suggested that the plot had been developed organically.
But during the trial, it became obvious that this wasn’t the case: defense attorneys argued that their clients were pushed into crime by the FBI. Defense attorneys claimed that at least 12 FBI agents and informants were involved in the plot.
Suppressing Opposition Reports
Additionally, the report notes the FBI’s role in suppressing the since-authenticated story about Hunter Biden’s laptop, with Republicans saying that the president’s son has received “preferential treatment from federal law enforcement.”
Many photos of Hunter Biden in sex situations were included on the laptop, including some with people much younger than 18. Others showed the president’s son using drugs such as crack cocaine. Still, other sections of the laptop’s contents raised questions about the Bidens’ business dealings, with some emails and texts suggesting that Hunter Biden may have traded on his father’s prestige and influence for financial gain.
Alexander Hamilton, founder of the New York Post media outlet, broke the story. The platform suspended the newspaper until it removed the story. Similar suppression occurred for other media outlets reporting on the contents.
Some of this behavior may not have been organic, according to the report.
The Judiciary Republicans noted that, during an August appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged that Facebook had suppressed the story at the FBI’s urging.
At the same time, dozens of national security and federal law enforcement agents signed a letter claiming that the story was Russian disinformation—a claim that has since been shown to be patently untrue.
Around the same time, Republicans unveiled a report showing that the FBI had been aware of the allegations surrounding the younger Biden’s business dealings with Chinese and Ukrainian interests for years, but hadn’t taken action to look into the potential national security threat.
Republican attempts to find answers about this apparently serious oversight by FBI and DOJ were met with silence. But GOP findings do provide some clues.
According to the report, whistleblower allegations were made “suggests that FBI leadership in Washington may be the reason why the FBI seems to have provided Hunter Biden with special treatment.”
The Select Subcommittee on the Warization of the Federal Government is scheduled to meet on Capitol Hill for the first-ever time at noon on February 9.
This panel is empowered with broad authority that includes the subpoena power, and the ability to investigate ongoing criminal investigations. The panel will examine areas where the federal government might abuse its power or violate the rights of American citizens.
“We will follow the truth where it leads,” Rep. Mike Johnson (R.La.), one of the members of the subcommittee, In a blog on Twitter, while sharing the schedule for the panel’s first meeting, which will take place at the Rayburn House Office Building.
Republicans have compared this panel to the Church Committee. This respected Senate committee was responsible for uncovering abuses by U.S intelligence agencies in the 1970s.
“The American people deserve to have confidence in their government,” Rep. Tom Cole (R.Okla.), chaired the House Rules Committee, stated on the House floor earlier this January. “They deserve to know that the broad powers granted to the federal government through the FBI, to the Department of Homeland Security, and to the intelligence agencies, are not being abused.”
Tom Ozimek contributed to the report.
