WWE Legend Jerry “The King” Lawler Hospitalized in Florida


Jerry “the King” Lawler, a legend of professional wrestling, was reportedly hospitalized in Florida after suffering from a “serious medical episode.”

PWInsider, a wrestling website reports that Lawler, aged 73 years old, had lunch with some friends on Monday. Lawler was then taken to the hospital by his family. “took ill.”

Action News 5NBC Memphis’ affiliate reports that Lawler suffered a stroke at Fort Myers, Fla. He is now in recovery in the hospital, having had surgery.

Lawler suffered a stroke in 2018. In 2012, a heart attack was recorded on live television.

Lawler has been in the business of wrestling for over 50 years. He started his career in Memphis in 1970. Lawler continued to compete on the independent circuit well into his 70s. He was in a match against Scott Steiner last season.

Lawler has been best known to national wrestling fans as a member of WWE’s commentary team, which he joined back in 1992. His partnership with Jim Ross during WWE’s fabled “Attitude Era” These moments are the soundtrack of company history.
