Facebook Unbans Trump

Meta announced that it would reinstate Trump’s accounts in January, exactly two years after he was suspended by them for violating their terms.
Nick Clegg, Meta President of Global Affairs, wrote in Statement, “Two years ago, we took action in what were extreme and highly unusual circumstances. We indefinitely suspended then-US President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts following his praise for people engaged in violence at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.”
Trump’s Facebook Page Last post Added January 6, 2009 and reads. “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”
Clegg added, “we will be reinstating Mr. Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts in the coming weeks. However, we are doing so with new guardrails in place to deter repeat offenses.”
Trump deleted Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Trump then created Truth Social and isn’t yet active on the sites which have restored him.
